Can't import a CSV file
Updated:
If Failed to Import CSV appears or imported field values are blank, check the rows, quotation marks, and text encoding.
Import fails if there are no readable rows, quotation marks aren’t closed, or the text encoding isn’t supported. Values that can’t be converted to a column’s field type are imported as blank.
Option 1
Fix the file based on the error
- If there are no readable rows, check the headers in the first row and the values in the following rows.
- If quotation marks aren’t closed, close the double quotes around the value and save the file.
- If the encoding isn’t supported, save the file again as UTF-8 CSV in a spreadsheet app or similar app. Shift JIS CSV files can be imported without saving them again.
Option 2
Change the type of a column with blank values
- Select the original file again to open the import preview.
- Check the Field Type for the column whose values become blank.
- To keep the values as text, choose Text and tap Import. Each import creates a new collection.
Review each column’s type and the number of values that can’t be converted in the preview before importing to avoid blank values. Data rows with every cell empty aren’t imported.
If the problem continues, include the file format, text encoding, message shown, and Clastly version when contacting support.
