Privacy Policy

Clastly ("we", "our", or "the App") is designed for personal use without requiring any account registration. We do not operate proprietary servers and we do not store personally identifiable information. This page explains what information is processed and why.

What Information We Collect and Why

  • Camera and Microphone: Used to capture photos and audio that you choose to save into your collection. Media stays on your device and may sync to your personal iCloud storage if enabled. No copies are kept on our servers.
  • Location: Used only to let you save places to your collection. Location data is stored in your personal iCloud storage if syncing is turned on.
  • Storage: Your collection data is stored locally and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud account. We cannot access or control iCloud-stored data.
  • Analytics (self-hosted Matomo): To understand app usage, we send the features you used, timestamp, device, OS, and similar technical details to a self-hosted Matomo instance that we operate (no third-party sharing). You can opt out in the app settings.
  • Crash Reports and Usage Data (Apple): If you have enabled "Share iPhone Analytics" in your device settings, Apple may automatically collect crash reports, app performance data, and usage information when the app encounters errors or operates. This data is anonymized and aggregated before we can access it through Apple's App Store Connect. We use this information to identify and fix bugs, improve app stability, and understand how the app performs across different devices. You can control this collection through your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share iPhone Analytics).

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other account identifiers
  • Passwords or authentication tokens (no account system exists)
  • Precise or coarse location history beyond what you explicitly save
  • Granular behavioral logs (e.g., per-click traces or screen-time history); only the limited usage events described in the analytics section are sent.

Data Storage and Security

  • Data you save stays on your device and may sync via Apple iCloud if you enable it.
  • We do not run our own data servers and do not store your collection on our systems.
  • Analytics data is transmitted over TLS to our self-hosted Matomo instance.

Your Choices and Controls

  • Grant or revoke camera, microphone, and location permissions at any time in your device settings.
  • Opt out of analytics in the app settings; opting out stops new analytics events from being sent.
  • Manage or delete your iCloud data through your Apple Account settings; deleting the app removes local data.

Children's Privacy

The app is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Features do not require accounts, ads, or tracking beyond the optional analytics described above.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in features or legal requirements. If updates are significant, we will provide notice within the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
