If Clastly says it can't open your database when you launch it, tap :ui[Try Again] first. Before deleting the database, make sure your data has synced to iCloud.

Instead of the collection list, Clastly shows this message:

```message
Clastly Can't Open Your Database
Your collections and records are still on this device. Clastly couldn't read them, but nothing has been deleted.
```

This appears when Clastly can't read the database stored on your device. The database files haven't been deleted.

:::option{title="Try opening the database again"}
1. Tap :ui[Try Again].
2. If the collection list doesn't appear, quit and reopen Clastly, then tap :ui[Try Again] again.
:::

:::option{title="Update Clastly to the latest version"}
1. Open Clastly in the App Store and update it if an update is available.
2. Open Clastly and tap :ui[Try Again].
:::

::::option{title="Delete the database and download your data again from iCloud"}
:::warning
Deleting the database removes all collections, records, and files stored on your device. Data already synced to iCloud can be downloaded again, but data that hasn't synced can't be restored.
:::

1. If you use Clastly on another iPhone or iPad, make sure your collections and records appear there.
2. Tap :ui[Delete Database].
3. Read the confirmation and, if you want to proceed, tap :ui[Delete Database].
::::

Create backups occasionally using [Back up and restore your data](https://www.clastly.com/support/import-export/backup-restore.md) so you can restore your data even after deleting the database.

If the problem continues, include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, Clastly version, and what you did before the message appeared, such as updating the app or using a newer version on another device, when contacting support.
