Use search in the collection list to find records across multiple collections.

## Search all records

Records in archived collections aren't included in search.

1. Tap :ui[Search All Records] in the collection list.
2. Enter the words you want to find in the search field.
3. Tap a record in the results. Its details appear.

On iPhone and in a narrow iPad window, you move from search results to the detail screen. In a wide iPad window, results and details appear in a split layout.

Searches across all collections show up to 200 results. If there are too many results, narrow your search terms or search scope.

## Change the search scope

1. Search while a collection is open.
2. Under :ui[Search Scope], choose :ui[All Collections] or :ui[This Collection].

The initial search scope is all collections. Searching within a collection narrows the records while keeping the collection's layout.

## Know which values are searchable

Search includes titles, field values, and notes. You can also search location names and addresses, option names, numbers, dates, and formula results.

Checkboxes, created time, last edited time, relations, and rollups aren't included in regular text search. To search the contents of photos and PDFs with Clastly Pro, see [Search text in photos and PDFs](https://www.clastly.com/support/search/attachment-search.md).

If you can't find a record, check that its collection isn't archived and that the search term appears in a searchable value. If it's missing only on another device, see [Records don't appear on another device](https://www.clastly.com/support/sync/not-syncing.md).
