# Field types

Choose a field type to set the values a field accepts and how it displays them. Formula, Relation, and Rollup require Clastly Pro; the other 11 types are free.

## Choose from 14 field types

| Field type | Values you enter or see |
| --- | --- |
| :ui[Text] | Enter text, such as an author's name. |
| :ui[Number] | Enter amounts or quantities. You can display currency, percentages, or values with units. |
| :ui[Date] | Enter a date. You can also set a time and end date. You can also [get a reminder](https://www.clastly.com/support/fields/date-reminder.md) at the date and time you enter. |
| :ui[Checkbox] | Turn a value on or off. |
| :ui[Single Select] | Choose one of the available options. |
| :ui[Multi Select] | Choose multiple available options. |
| :ui[URL] | Enter a web page's URL. |
| :ui[Location] | Add a location using a name or address search, the map, or your current location. |
| :ui[File] | Attach photos, videos, PDFs, and other files. A field can hold multiple attachments. |
| :ui[Created Time] | See when the record was created. |
| :ui[Last Edited Time] | See when the record was updated. |
| :ui[Formula] | Calculate a result from other field values using a formula. To learn how to write formulas, see [Calculate values with a formula field](https://www.clastly.com/support/fields/formula.md). |
| :ui[Relation] | Link records in the same collection or another collection. To learn how to link records, see [Link records with a relation](https://www.clastly.com/support/fields/relation.md). |
| :ui[Rollup] | Display or summarize values from records linked through a relation. To set up a summary, see [Summarize linked values with a rollup](https://www.clastly.com/support/fields/rollup.md). |

You can't enter values directly in Created Time, Last Edited Time, Formula, or Rollup fields. Set a relation by choosing records to link.

## Change an existing field's type
