You can change a field's type later in its editor. You can also delete unused fields and restore deleted fields with their values.

## Change a field type

1. Touch and hold the collection in the collection list and tap :ui[Edit Collection].
2. Tap the field you want to change in the :ui[Fields] list.
3. Choose a new :ui[Field Type].
4. Tap :ui[Done]. If you change the type to Formula, set up the formula and tap :ui[Save].

Changing the type changes how the value appears. The original value is kept until you edit the value in a record.

You can't change the type of an existing relation or change another type to a relation. Add a new relation field to choose records to link.

If you see a message that the collection contains field types created in a newer version of the app, update Clastly to the latest version in the App Store. If you purchased Clastly Pro but can't edit formulas, relations, or rollups, see [Clastly Pro features aren't available after purchase](https://www.clastly.com/support/pro/pro-not-unlocked.md).

## Delete or restore a field

1. In the collection editor, tap the field you no longer need.
2. Tap :ui[Delete Field]. The field leaves the regular field list.
3. To bring it back, tap the field under :ui[Deleted Fields] in the collection editor.
4. Tap :ui[Restore]. The field returns to the field list.

:::warning
A field can't be restored after you confirm :ui[Delete Permanently]. For a relation, you may also see a screen asking whether to delete the field on the other side.
