# Add and edit records

Open a collection and enter a record title and field values to add a record. You can edit the record later and undo changes.

## Add a record

1. Open the collection where you want to add a record.
2. Tap :ui[Add Record]. The new record's details appear.
3. Enter and confirm the title.
4. Enter the field values.
5. Enter any additional text in the note, then finish editing.

Add information about each book or item as a separate record. On iPhone and in a narrow iPad window, you move from the list to the detail screen. In a wide iPad window, details appear beside the list. ## Edit a record

1. Tap the record you want to edit in the collection's list.
2. Tap the title or field value you want to change and edit it.
3. Tap a checkbox to turn it on or off. For select and location fields, choose a value in the editor that opens.

## Undo changes

1. Tap :ui[Undo] on the detail screen.
2. To restore a change you undid, tap :ui[Redo].
